Microneedling is a dermaroller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The purpose of treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Microneedling is mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.
The professionals at Azul Medspa utilize the InnoPen™. The InnoPen™ is a new state of the art microneedling device that induces collagen and elastin production.
We have also begun using Skinpen™ to help treat acne scarring. Continue reading below for more information on microneedling and available styles of treatment.

During your treatment, the device is carefully moved over areas of the skin by our skin care technicians. The micro-piercings created by the device stimulate production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Your skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis (inner skin layer) with a softening and reduction in lines and wrinkles. The InnoPen™ creates superficial micro-channels which allow customized nutrient serums, such as a vitamin C-serum or other serum chosen based on desired outcome, to be absorbed more effectively into the skin, enhancing treatment outcomes. During your consultation, our skin care specialist will determine the most effective serum to achieve your desired goals.
Patients generally require 4-5 sessions to receive optimal results. The first 3 treatments should be spaced 2 weeks apart, and the last 2-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, stretch marks or deeper acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at two to four week intervals.*
Our patients often notice an immediate “glow” to their skin within a couple of days. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after the treatment as collagen and elastic production continues and the skin smooths out.*
SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics uses ‘collagen induction therapy’ to treat melasma – also known as skin discoloration – as well as acne scars and surgical scars. You know it’s safe because it’s the first globally approved Microneedling device with a C.E. mark and ISO certification.
With a few as three non-invasive and affordable treatments spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance for six months after your last treatment – and step out with confidence.
SkinPen causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue. while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.
Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
The wound is replaced with dermal tissues and blood vessels.
Best of all, SkinPen works. 90% of subjects in the clinical trial would recommend the procedure to family and friends.

Microneedling treatments can range significantly in price. The precise cost may depend on your provider and treatment area size. Each microneedling session costs anywhere between $200 and $700.
Most people don’t receive just one microneedling session. We may recommend up to eight sessions, depending on your individual treatment goals. With multiple treatments, the total cost of microneedling could be anywhere from $600 to over $5,000.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that delivers notable results with multiple treatments1. It’s a versatile, minimally painful skin revitalization option with many associated benefits. Microneedling can reduce the appearance of acne scars, stretch marks, pore size, and wrinkles. It can also tighten and rejuvenate the skin. Many people receive regular microneedling sessions to keep their skin looking youthful.
The cost of multiple treatments can add up. However, microneedling is still more affordable than comparable laser skin treatments. Many patients love how their skin looks and feels after their microneedling appointments. If you want to enjoy a more radiant complexion without surgery, consider microneedling. For many people, this highly effective treatment is well worth the cost.
Microneedling works well on all skin types. It is ideal for anyone with wrinkles, enlarged pores, stretch marks, and acne scars. It is more effective on broad, superficial scars than narrow, deep scars. Microneedling is also safe for people with darker skin or skin pigmentation problems. It doesn’t produce heat like laser treatments do. That means it won’t alter skin color or worsen pigmentation irregularities.
